MAN or G-D?
[18b middle] R’ Yehuda quoting Shmuel: Every day a Heavenly voice emanates and declares: the daughter of so and so is destined for so and so. Rambam: Even though people are born with unique specific tendencies, not one is ever forced to do any act [otherwise the entire concept of reward and punishment would be a lie (and the Mitzvah of marriage is no exception to the rule)]. Chidushei Haran (explaining our Gemarah according to the Rambam): There is a “natural tendency” and “preordained connection” between every so called Bashert, but every person has free will to act or not accordingly. R’ Tatz: Even though a Neshama is split when it comes down to the world between two people, it is up to them to come back together.
E’s Lesson: Hashem runs the world according to His plan, but it is always up to us to bring about results. We are obligated to DO in this world to bring Hashem’s blessings into reality. We must remember how important we are in this manner while never forgetting that Everything is really G-d. Even when we have the thought and then lift our arm, we must recognize it is only happening through Hashem.
