[4a bottom] Gemarah: It is permitted to clear out a public water source that is being blocked for the sake of the community (ie: by unclogging a river, clearing away sand, and removing branches).

T’s Lesson: Many times we see that certain leniencies abound due to the overall needs of the community. We should always have our fellows’ needs in mind and take care of our surroundings in which we live. We need to learn not to be self-centered, and not only focused on our individual problems.
