ENGROSSMENT

[40a bottom] R’ Huna saya in the name of Rav: One must always pay attention to meat in one’s home (because it might get switched for a non-Kosher/ Muktzeh one, and it would then be prohibited). Rav Chana bar Chanilay was a great scholar, [who used to learn Torah and “get lost” in his studies (and lose focus on other matters)] and R’ Huna therefore said, that if someone else hung meat on R’ Chana’s doorway,  it would not be permitted to him.

E’s Lesson: Often times, when we learn Torah we may be distracted by an array of Yezter Haradiker diversions. We should learn to value our G-dly studies and always keep lazer-like focus on the truly important things in our lives.
