People-Persons –

Gemarah [12b bottom]: Cooking and Carrying are the two activities allowed on YomTov but not on Shabbos. This foundational concept of YomTov is all about togetherness and unity among people, Bein Adam L’chaveiru (between man and fellow man). That is why cooking and carrying are allowed, because they enhance interpersonal relationships. In the Torah by the first ever Pesach (a YomTov) it is actually called Shabbos (because that day had laws unlike all other Holidays and more similar to Shabbos ie: they were not allowed to go out of their homes and were commanded to stay alone with families in their houses when Hashem came to slay Egypt’s firstborns).

E’s Lesson: We must remember that our relationship with our fellow Jews must not be pushed aside “for the sake of G-d.” This is why we have two tablets of the commandments and not just one stone. The “second” five commandments are just as important (and in fact exactly parallel) as the first five. Be just as sacred with other people as you would with Hashem.
