The Chicken Within –
Braisa [7a middle]: A chicken has the Rabbinic status of meat, and eggs are normally Parve (non-meat nor dairy). So the question arises: May eggs that are found inside a slaughtered chicken be eaten with milk or not? [Tanna Kamma’s and R’ Yosef’s opinions are further debated as to who says which rulings with further details.]
E’s Lesson: When do we view portions as separate or included in a greater whole? We are each unique “individuals” but we are also all portions (not separate “parts”) of G-d. We must recognize our places as tiny integral pieces of a massively complex machine. Then we understand how vital our key roles are in existence while maintaining awareness that we are nothing compared to the vast infinite of G-d’s magnificence.
