[22b bottom] Rabbanan: Kohanim may never drink wine, since they may be called upon to serve as soon as the Bais Hamikdash (Holy Temple) is rebuilt [and we are concerned that it will be imminently rebuilt!].

D-E-ep Thoughts: We must live our lives as though our redemption is coming in this very next moment! The Chofetz Chaim always had with him a new neatly wrapped suitcase. Once, one of his close acquaintances asked him why he never wore anything inside it, upon which the Rebbe replied, “I truly believe that Moshiach will come any day now, and I want to be sure that as soon as he arrives, I will be ready to go and greet him with this new garment!”
