PASSING PITFALLS

[92a bottom] Gemarah: We tell a Nazir [one who has taken a vow not to drink wine (among other prohibitions)], “Go around and do not come near the vineyard!” For we do not want him working in a vineyard so as not to be tempted by grapes or wine.

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: We should always be careful to not put ourselves into compromising situations. If we know that we are weak in particular areas, we should make extra efforts in order not to be tempted. Even though trips may take longer, more time may be consumed, and increased energy may be spent, beating challenges not only earn us infinite reward in the world to come, but also help make us stronger and Holier individuals here as well (while enabling us to win more easily the next time around).
