BRIDGING BREADS

[56a top] Ravina quoting R’ Meir: If one purchases bread from an Am Ha’aretz (ignoramus) baker (who is suspected not to have taken tithes), may take tithes from any one loaf onto the others, even from yesterday’s cold bread to today’s HOT Bread [which may indicate the separate batches may be from different sources (some of which may have had tithes taken and others may have not) and therefore the Kohen may end up with improper foods, but we do not worry about this possibility for doubtful breads].
R’ Rosner quoting Radvaz from GM’ Menachos: In order to show G-d’s love for His people, the Kohanim would hold up the Shulchan (table) and show that the bread was steaming hot and fresh even a week later.

D-E-ep Thoughts: We should always work on keeping our relationships as hot and as fresh as the show breads in the Temple. Even though we are around our spouses most of the time, our interactions must never get stale. We must look for new and exciting ways to show our appreciation and thank them with special quality time. This should be used to enhance our connection to G-d as well. Opening our Tefillin boxes every morning should feel as though we are unwrapping Hashem’s Holy presents, and donning Yarmulkas/Sheitels should feel as though we are placing precious crowns on our heads.
