AWKWARD ASSUMPTIONS

[46a top] The Gemarah assumes that since a man is currently standing in a grainery, he should be able to acquire specific monies through an acquisition of his land. However, the man was actually only standing in his friend’s grainery and has no land of his own (so it would not be possible through this method).

D-E-ep Thoughts: Even when things seem plainly obvious, we should never make assumptions. Having less superficial outlooks not only help us in terms of business dealings, but in spiritual standings as well. Even though we do not see G-d openly throughout our days, we must search to find that every interaction we have within this world is Him sending us messages. It is our duty (and main purpose in life) to delve deeper and connect closer to Hashem.
