[19a bottom] Gemarah: A ‘gift document’ is any document in which a clause is written in it stipulating that the gift is to take effect (and change possession) from today (retroactively), after the benefactor’s death.

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: We should realize that each and every day (of which we are blessed with life) brings us endless opportunities to obtain eternal reward. Every moment is a precious gift from G-d and we should utilize our time to be able to achieve maximum results [with learning Torah and good deeds]. We must plan for our futures and those of our children while we still can.
