ACCOMPANYING ARCHANGELS

[11a middle] Gemarah: We quote a ‘Gemarah’ learning from the Torah: “And you forget a sheaf in the field.”  This implies that it is (considered the Mitzvah of) Shichachah only if it was forgotten while he was in the field; however, if it was forgotten while he was in the city, it is not regarded as Shichachah.
R’ Rosner quoting GRA: The Tractates are all called “Gemarah” ג-מ-ר-א, because when Ravina and R’ Ashi finished compiling all the lessons, they sent it up to Heaven for acceptance to be the basis for all our oral teachings. Hashem sent it back approved and accompanied by His ministering four archangels: ג–Gavriel, מ–Michael, ר–Raphael, and א–Uriel.

D-E-ep Thoughts: In the ‘Prayer for Protection’ at night before bed, we mention these angels by name as well. Although Angels are assigned specific tasks and roles by G-d, they have very little practical options to disobey. We are blessed with real Free Choice (since we are not granted as clear vision of Hashem) and should use this opportunity to gain the greatest reward for still choosing to follow G-d’s commands (as if we were angelic).
