R’ Rosner quoting Rosh: The Kilyaim prohibition is based on the issue of Tzar Baalei Chaim (causing suffering to living creatures). Since different animals work at varying speeds and have independent strengths, one would become unduly stressed.

D-E-ep Thoughts: If we are so particular about caring for animals, how much more so must we be careful when dealing with people. Managers at work making department teams and principals of schools diving classes have important responsibilities in shaping the relationships of those they put together. Whenever we deal with groups, we should keep in mind the seriousness of fostering healthy and productive partnerships.
