[4a bottom] R’ Sheishes: When a debtor is accused of owing money in court and he takes out the exact amount and declares, “Here, it is yours,” this admission makes it as if the money is already in the hands of the creditor (and no debate involving future monies owed can be linked to this amount).

D-E-ep Thoughts: We should always look to ‘pay our debts’ as immediately as possible. In terms of monetary payments, we should never want to have outstanding payments hanging over our heads. In regards to spiritual slip-ups, we should attempt to admit sins to G-d and ask forgiveness (while really meaning it) straightaway after a fall and not wait until a set time for repentance.
