R’ Elazar ben Yaakov [47b bottom]: Bikkurim (first fruits) require waving. The owner holds the top of the basket, and the Kohen supports it underneath to help the owner offer it to Hashem.

E’s Lesson (based on R’ Tatz): The reason we are given ‘helpers’ in life (ie: the Kohen, a non-dominant hand…) is to teach us the lesson of Ikur (the main purpose) and Taful (the subsidiary). We must remember to make our bodies subservient to our souls. The body is ONLY a vehicle to drive our souls to greatness and its ultimate destination THERE [Shamayim=Heaven; the word literally means all the “theres;” everyone’s end destination]. Never get mistaken into doing what ‘the body’ wants. When a subordinate tool is used to try and fulfill a purpose, the job does not get done correctly, it damages the tool, and its purpose does not even get fulfilled correctly. Make our bodies ‘vanish’ by eliminating physical desires for their own purposes and use everything physical for the correct spiritual intended reason.
