[8b top] Rabbis in a Braisa: If a man gives a Mannah to a woman and asks her to be Mikadesh (married) to him with the Mannah, and she throws it into the sea or into a fire, it is not a valid betrothal [even though we might have thought she is actually thereby accepting his proposal (and simply throwing it away to test his temper)].

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: We should always be careful not to “stoke the flames,” nor do things just to provoke people (simply because we feel like it, or ‘enjoy’ it). Anger is a very dangerous emotion to incite and we should never be the cause of it coming about.
