[2b bottom] R’ Shimon: We use the language of a man “finding” his wife, which is similar to one who loses an object that goes looking for it.

D-E-ep Thoughts: We literally search for our other halves, because a couple starts out as one soul that gets ripped in half and thrown down into two separate physical bodies. Just as our hand would care tremendously for our foot (because it is a portion of the same whole body), we should always do everything we can for our spouse (and recognize that he/she is the other half of our soul).
