[29a bottom] R’ Yochanan: Even school children know that a borrower may not lend out a borrowed object to someone else [without permission from the owner].

D-E-ep Thoughts: We have to be very careful when it comes to other people’s belongings. Sometimes, people are too quick to give (without thinking of how someone else might be affected). Aside from monetary losses, we must also take caution for our fellow Jew’s spiritual account. We should never partake in Lashon Hara (evil speech) because it harms the one talked about, the one who speaks it, and even the one who simply hears it. We should only try to increase Holiness in the world and produce plenty positivity.
