WONDERING WORRIERS
[28a middle] Rabbah: If we were concerned that a sender would pass away at any moment (after appointing someone to deliver a Get to his wife), there would never be any case where a husband could appoint a Shliach for his Get [because we would have to worry if the sender was alive or not and the messenger would be invalidated (and not able to act on his behalf)].
D-E-ep Thoughts: We cannot live our lives simply based on “What ifs…” If we truly thought about it, we could come up with at least one hundred reasons not to step foot outside in the morning [ie: anxiety about (G-d forbid) slipping, falling objects, getting hit by cars, ect…]. We are taught in Judaism “Don’t Worry… Be Happy!” Emunah (faith) is the exact opposite extreme of worry; One cannot co-exist with the other. If we ever catch ourselves “worried,” we need to pause and reexamine our faith in that moment.
