WONDERFUL WORKERS
[12b top] Gemarah: When a slave’s hands become sanctified, all his earned money is Hekdesh. Even while in this state, we allow the slave to borrow additional money from others to eat more and allow him to work for them to repay them back little by little (even before Hekdesh takes his newly earned money). This is because it is to Hekdesh’s ultimate benefit; the stronger the slave gets, the more he will be able to earn for Hekdesh in the future.
R’ Rosner explaining Chashukei Chemed: Workers (for a Yeshiva) as well, if entitled to food on the job, should be given more than just enough to get by. Because then, when they are happier, they will end up doing much better jobs (for the school).
D-E-ep Thoughts: When we want the best results, we should not focus on how little we should be investing. This applies in any company when treating workers well. Besides for (physical) good salaries, we should make sure to include perks and tons of (emotional/mental) positive reinforcements. Additionally, since we know the ultimate rewards come in the next world, we should never spare any expenses here, in this world, to obtain infinite payouts later.
