TRANSITORY BLISS

[102b top] Rava: Fathers enter into binding agreements to marry off their children (not because of tangible/financial benefit, but) because they get true pleasure in seeing them married.

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: Many things in this world are fleeting/transitory and the pleasures and happiness only last for a very temporary time (ie: food, good music, etc). However Mitzvos and Torah are everlasting; giving benefit for all eternity [especially the marriage of a couple and the building of a proper Jewish home through children]. We should always strive for the true timeless treats.
