DAYS OFF

[76b middle] Gemarah: An example of a Tereifah (non-Kosher animal) is one in which one of its inner membranes was pierced through both sides.
R’ Rosner: A Neveilah is a completely Kosher animal that was just not slaughtered correctly, while Tereifah is an inherently not Kosher (with internal defects).

D-E-ep Thoughts: There are many ways that animals, and our own actions, can be deemed “unKosher.” Even if we follow the letter of the law for the majority of a process, that does not make our complete action one that is acceptable. We are never given any “laxities” or “days off” in Judaism, we must be completely ‘ON’ 24/7. When we vacation from our physical work, we are never allowed to slack in our religious observances. G-d demands constant adherence to His laws, as this performance will build and enhance our characters permanently.
