Rashi: This was a popular woman’s saying, explaining the idea that there are times that a woman would settle for a less than perfect husband rather than having to be alone.

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: Those of us who are married should always remember how lucky we are to have our spouses. Many of us may be “less than desirable” due to bad Middos (character traits), and should feel thankful that our spouses put up with us. Before we criticize others, we should remember to reflect inwards and try perfect our thoughts and actions first.
