SELF JUDGEMENTS

[65a top] R’ Yehudah of (Kefar Neviraya/Kefar Nafor Chayil): [Shmuel 1:9] “And Chanah rose up after she had eaten in Shiloh, and after he drank.” This verse indicates that only ‘’he’ drank,’ but ‘she’ did not drink.
Gra: Why did Ailey [Shmuel 1:14] accuse Chanah of being drunk? Based on RambaN: The Urim Vetumim (the stones on the high priest’s breastplate) lit up the letters: ש ר כ ה. He read the combination as שכרה (a drunkard) rather כשרה (a Kosher one, or K’Sara = pure like Sarah).

D-E-ep Thoughts: We are tasked with always finding a favorable outlook when viewing other’s actions. If we realize that G-d is always ‘allowing’ us to sense only what He intends for us, then the judgement is not actually that which we place on others, but that which we are defining ourselves by. We are being tested to see if we can hypothesize a positive scenario. We must remember that every thing that we see and hear are more opportunities for us to better ourselves (and not put blame elsewhere).
