PERSONAL PREFERENCES

[61a top] R’ Huna bar Chinina: If a woman wants to nurse her child but her husband disagrees with her decision, we listen to her request instead of his.
Rimigash (Shita Mikubetzes): This is ‘her’ business and her husband does not have a say in the matter.

D-E-ep Thoughts: Many time when we observe other people’s’ actions, we have differing opinions as to how better they should handle specific situations. Even if we feel that alternative methods would be more ‘logical’ or ‘advantageous’ for people, we must stop and not impose our own thoughts and views on others [if their actions do not directly clash with definite Halacha (Jewish law)]. We must learn to butt out when our suggestions are not welcome and respect other peoples’ decisions.
