FAULTY FREEDOM

[45a bottom] Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak: The Tanaim argue as to whether punishments for a girl change when she turns from a Na’arah (12) into a Bogeres (12.5).
R’ Rosner quoting Rashi in GM’ Babba Kamma [98b]: Rafram forced R’ Ashi to pay for a document that he burned as a kid.

D-E-ep Thoughts: Even though we may be able to get out of physical punishments (ie: from a lack of warning or improper witnesses), we are still held ‘accountable’ for our actions. Violations are still broken when prohibitions occur. Even when others are unaware of our actions, we must try to make things right by them (ie: returning unknown stolen money). We should not get others in trouble, but still try to correct our own misdeeds to better ourselves, our relationships with those around us, and our connections to Hashem.
