WHITE LIGHT
[37b middle] R’ Nachman quoting Rabbah bar Avuha: The verse states, ״ואהבת לרעך כמוך״ (and you shall love your fellow as yourself).
D-E-ep Thoughts [based on R’ Gil Locks]: In order to be able to love others “like ourselves,” we need to understand that we are not in fact separate from each other. When one lamp is shining on a dark room floor, we can visualize a bright white circle. When a piece of cardboard is placed under the light with circle and square cut-outs, we can see different shapes on the floor. When colored cellophane covers even more cut-out shapes, we now can see hundreds of various shapes and colors projecting on the floor. But, when we remove the cardboard once again, we realize that what we thought of as distinct objects, people, and places, were all really just One Light.
