POTENTIAL ENERGY
[36a middle] Rafram: When the Braisa said that a girl is entitled to her fine (for being violated/seduced), it is referring to one who is “fit” to perform Miun [the negating of a marriage that was Rabbinically established for her by a relative (other than her father) while she was still a minor].
R’ Zera: Fitness/Potential for situation determines it status as acceptable (even if it was not actually completed) [ie: when entering a Mikvah (ritual bath), once does not need to literally open one’s mouth, as long as there is nothing inside that would be termed a Chatzitzah (separation), the immersion is valid].
D-E-ep Thoughts: Many times in life, we can work super hard to create the potential for success and greatness, but for one reason or another things do not play out accordingly. G-d has a master plan for all of us. If something is not “destined” to be, we must accept it. We always have to do whatever we can (“Hishtadlus”), but we should never get upset at “failed” results because Hashem gives us the ‘credit’ for things even if we do not end up getting to physically do it.
