[4b top] Gemarah: A wife in mourning is allowed certain intimate situations with her husband, but a husband who is mourning is not allow those same levels of closeness with his wife (as they may lead to too much temptation). Rashash: Women are generally more emotionally affected by and invested in events than men [brought about as part of the curse of Chavah (Eve) from the Garden], and would therefore not be as distracted by physical pleasures [whereas men would be more swayed in similar situations].

D-E-ep Thoughts: We must always take others’ emotions into consideration, as they will most likely be different than our own. We may never be able to understand other peoples’ pains or pleasures, but we must work on ourselves to appreciate what they are feeling. We experience all situations and interactions in life as opportunities for personal growth. We can help better ourselves and improve the lives of others as well as the world at large in the process.
