DESPICABLE FORESKINS

[70a middle] Mishna: An Uhrel (an uncircumcised man) may not eat Terumah (Kohanic food).
Rosh Hazevah: Rabeinu Tam: An Uhrel is only defined as someone who chooses not to do the Mitzvah (of circumcision), but if he is Halachically exempt [ie: his two previous brothers died while having circumcisions], then he is not held accountable (and not termed an Uhrel). It is not the physical foreskin that is despicable to Hashem (unlike Rashi’s opinion), but rather the lack of fulfillment when a spiritual obligation is at play.

D-E-ep Thoughts: When we observe Torah commandments, we must recognize the deep spiritual realities, rather than just focusing on the physical attributes of people, places and things. A pig should not be disgusting in our eyes due to its rolling around in the mud or unhealthy physical characteristics, but rather because of its spiritual toxicity. The observed world only is as it appears because the Torah says so and it is reflective of a higher spiritual reality.
