REFLECTIVE PRAYERS

[64a bottom] R’ Yitzchak: Hashem made the Avos (forefathers) and Imahos (mothers) barren because G-d desires their Tefillos (prayers). Prayers turn over and change G-d’s attributes and decrees.
Sefer Ha’ikarim: How could G-d “change His mind?” If were are deserving/destined to get something we would get it anyway, and if not, how could Davening (praying) for something  change the outcome? Tefillah changes US not Hashem. When we pour our hearts out and pray to G-d, we become new people. Then, we no longer have the same decrees and destinies that were linked to our old selves and are now able to be showered with the gifts that G-d was waiting to bestow upon us all along.

D-E-ep Thoughts: G-d loves us more than we can ever love our own children. Just as we would never send our children out into the cold without a winter coat, G-d would never withold His goodness from us. But, when our children request chainsaws to play with (no matter how long or hard they ask for it), we will never grant their requests (as it would harm them and everything around them). But, when they grow older and wiser and are able to use the tools properly, we would gladly give them everything to help them advance. May we always recognize G-d’s love for us, try to learn the lessons we need to grow, and become the brand new amazing people that He wants us to be and then be showered with limitless blessings.
