NECESSITATIVE INTERRUPTIONS

[56a bottom] Shita Mikubetzes [Kesuvos 48]: It is especially important to let others speak uninterrupted. But, if one does not inherently understand what the individual is telling him/her it is permissible to stop to get clarification.

D-E-ep Thoughts: We must remember when to listen, and when to speak. If it means the other person will have to retell all the details over again because there was a lack of understanding or context, we should get clarification before it goes on further. The analyzation of the situation should be viewed as whether we are focusing on ourselves or the good of others around us. If we are able to put our arguments and egos aside and honestly assess the situation properly, we will gain much clarity on how to act in the current and future situations.
