[47a bottom] Tosephos Yeshanim: Many times Geirim (converts) make the rest of the Jewish people look bad [and Baalei Teshuvas (people who become more religious later in life) do also]. This is because they might be much more careful in Jewish law and are more stringent with the commandments than the rest of the people are.

D-E-ep Thoughts: When people find their own way (after previously being on a different path) they are usually much more excited than those who have been there since the beginning. We must take great strength and learn from these peoples’ examples. We should wake up with freshness everyday, feel as if we are reborn again, and take advantage of every moment we have to actualize our potential.
