DAILY THANKS
[43b bottom] Gemarah: The joy in doing Erusin (engagement) is only applicable where there is an accompanying feast (since the act itself is not joyous). However, Nesuin (full marriage) itself is joyous and does not need a feast to celebrate it [for it is a joyous occasion (since the woman is now fully legally married to him in all aspects)].
Prac-T-cal Tidbits: Marrying a woman is a tremendously happy occasion, but it should not only be joyous in the beginning. We should rejoice in the fact that we have met our spouse/other-half every day and thank Hashem constantly for completing and filing our souls.
