5 Adar II, 5774 (3/7/14) – Sukkah#32 {Tani}
Abaye: The pasuk of “all the ways of torah are sweet and all its paths are peace” teaches us that the branch of the lulav must be smooth and not prickly in order to be considered peaceful. Otherwise, it is not conducive to doing the mitzvah if one would be hurt by the branch.
T’s Lesson: We should ensure in our daily lives, like the branch of the lulav, that the we enact peace in our lives. Without peace in our lives and our home, daily will feel prickly and not smooth. This is not conducive to a ‘smooth’ way of life or a calm mindset to do mitzvot and live in a proper frame of thinking.
