[13b top] Mishna: Even though Beis Hillel and Beis Shammai would disagree on different matters such as co-wives’ permitted/prohibited status, they did not hesitate to intermarry with one another [and each side would explain which people were suitable for the other’s opinion on marriage respectively].
Prac-T-cal Tidbits: How many smaller issues do people disagree about and not let Shidduchim (marriage arrangements) go forth nowadays? There are so many smaller scale issues than the ones which Beis Hillel and Beis Shammai would disagree on, and they would welcome the matches! We should emulate this idea on an even smaller scale! We all too often here of terribly minor reasons that marriages do not go forward [ie: “His hair is not blonde enough, her eyes are not blue, etc…”]. We must look to our sages before us for great practical advice and implement it into our lives.
