RECONNECTING PIECES

[8b bottom] The Rabbis quoting R’ Yosi bar Chanina:  If one performs Yebum (a brother marries his deceased brother’s wife) and then divorces her, he may remarry her again at a later date [as long as no one else married her in the meantime; just like the rules of a regular husband and wife who get divorced and then want to remarry again later]. This lesson is learned from the word “Ulikacha” (and you will take her).

D-E-ep Thoughts: Marriage is a very special and delicate relationship that often times has emotions running high. Even when a soul separates (G-d forbid), it still has the option to reconnect again later. We do not always make correct decisions in life, but we must learn how to work through tough situations and reunite while forging even stronger bonds than before.
