Grabbing Too Much

[17a bottom] The Gemarah compares Shavuous to Pesach, which has seven days, rather than to Sukkos, which has eight (if you include Shemini Atzeres). This former comparison is made because, “If you try and seize the larger amount, you may end up not seizing anything at all; but if you seize the smaller amount you have surely seized it.”

T’s Lesson: In our days we should be sure to only take on that which we are able to handle and not to commit to too many different priorities and responsibilities. Only be sure to take on as much as we can handle and no more than that.
