No Limits
[7a top] GM’ quotes [Mishnah in Pe’ah]: There are the Mitzvos (commandments) that have no measure: Pe’ah (food to be left standing in the field for the poor) Bikkurim (laws of the first fruits), the Re’ayon (Olas Reiyah Korban sacrifice to appear before Hashem on Holidays), acts of kindness, and learning Torah.
T’s Lesson: Pirkei Avos teaches, “It is not in incumbent on you to finish it, but you are not exempt from it (Torah and good deeds).” The Gemarah here teaches that we can never say, “I don’t have time for Torah and good deeds,” or, “I have no huge sums of money for the poor.” Even the slightest bit done is meritorious, beneficial, and a Mitzvah. Even if one gives but a few minutes of their day to help others, or learn a bit of Torah, or give a little charity, it still counts because these things have NO limits. However we learn, the more the better.
