DOUBLE-VISION

[2a middle] Yochanan son of Dehavei quoting R’ Yehudah: In order to come before G-d with sacrifices, a person needs to have “two eyes.” Avodas Yisroal quoting Tikunei Zohar: This is representative of the two eyes/visions that we must see the world through; self-importance and humility. R’ Levi Yitzchak & Yisroel Salanter used to walk around with these two messages with one in each of their pockets. The first one read: “I am but dust and ashes” and the other, “the whole world was created for me.”

E’s Lesson: We must always have not proper outlook on life with appropriate balances. We have to keep our Torah knowledge on the forefront of our minds and know when to use which laws appropriately. We are tested in life only in order to grow. May we always recognize Hashem sending us messages, and know when to choose the proper lessons from our appropriate respective pockets.
