SHARING KNOWLEDGE

[23a bottom] R’ Yochanan: A myrtle in the wilderness is a tree which goes unappreciated where no one can benefit from its fragrance. So too is a learned Torah scholar who does not give over his/her knowledge to others.

T’s lesson: Every time we learn any Torah we should look for any opportunity to share what we learned with others. We should not think, “I did not learn anything so special or important, who would want to hear from me?” Each piece of Torah is worthy to be shared with others, and should given the opportunity to be heard.
