Both are steeped in terrible wickedness that destroys worlds. The only differenc<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">e <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Alef, 'SBL Hebrew';\">\u05de\u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Alef, 'SBL Hebrew';\">\u05de\u05e6\u05e8\u05e2\u05d9\u05dd<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span>(plural form of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span><i>Metzora<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span>)<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> is t<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">hat one is always evil but the other has a<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">n <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Alef, 'SBL Hebrew';\">\u05e2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">in<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">side = the <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>70<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> &#8216;faces of Torah.&#8217; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let&#8217;s look at further connections as well&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Tons of ANIMALS were involved in Egypt. The plagues included <\/span><span style=\"color: #009933;\"><b>frogs<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><span style=\"color: #666666;\"><b>lice<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><span style=\"color: #801900;\"><b>wild animals<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, and <\/span><span style=\"color: #663300;\"><b>locusts<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. All of these acted like normal but the <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #009933;\">FROGS<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> went crazy. The Midrash says they jumped into ovens and even survived! When the Jews were leaving Egypt all the <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">DOGS<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> \u201c<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Lo Yecherav Kelev Lishono<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201d kept quiet and none of them barked. Because of this, there is a mitzvah to give credit to dogs. When we have meat that we cannot eat we are told to &#8216;throw it to the dogs.&#8217; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Why<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> do the <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">DOGS<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> get more credit than the <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #009933;\">FROGS<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R&#8217; Spiro<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">: It is harder to control one&#8217;s mouth than it is to jump into a fiery oven. The Dogs controlled their INSTINCTS (natural tendencies and desires), and <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>that<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> is tremendous. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> This Parsha deals with the element of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (evil speak) and all about self-control over &#8216;<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>animalistic<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> instincts.&#8217; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Mitzrayim<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (who acted like complete dehumanizing animals and had slaves) is compared to a <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Metzora <\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(one who chooses to debase his speech to become like an animal\/slave to it).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chafetz Chaim<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">: Make sure we GOT the message: <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>G<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">uard <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>O<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ur <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>T<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ongues and follow the way of the dogs. Watch not only what goes IN to our mouths but even more so what comes OUT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> What goes IN to our mouths re-forms our bodies (we <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>are<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> what we eat), but what comes OUT of our mouths restructures worlds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chovos Halevavos<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">: On our Days of Judgement when we are done here, we will be getting slammed for actions that are not even ours! When we speak evil about others, the words continue to get spread further and further and we are accountable for everywhere they end up. On the flip side, we will also get numerous CREDITS that we never even performed. These come to us from the people who spoke <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> about us. When EVIL speak when gets emanated from a person&#8217;s mouth, it pulls away his\/her GOOD deeds along with it and they end up trying to &#8216;help&#8217; compensate us who were harmed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R&#8217; Tzvi Dovid<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">: A Rabbi in Krakow heard that people were spreading rumors about him (later, the people found out it wasn&#8217;t true). He explained the <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>pasuk<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (verse) about when Dovid Hamelech says in <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tehillim<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> \u201cpeople who sit in the gates talk about me and those who drink sing songs about me.\u201d Dovid says he couldn&#8217;t believe that <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>these drunkards<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> are talking about him, would it have been better if a Torah scholar was talking badly about him? YES!! Because, if great people talk about him at least he would get tremendous deeds in his account due to the transfer! But when the low-lifes talk <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, he does not get anything in this world or the next.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> When we cannot control what others say about us, at least we can take solace in knowing that magnanimous rewards are now coming our way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Let us be especially careful to watch what our words create. We must never debase anything to the levels of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Mitzrayim<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Metzora&#8217;im<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.
