All Dogs Go To Heaven <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a><\/a> Mitzrayim<\/b><\/i><\/span> (Egypt) is related to a <\/span>Metzora<\/b><\/i><\/span>(someone with a <\/span>Tzaraas<\/i><\/span> affliction)<\/span>. <\/span>Meitzar<\/i><\/span> means ‘constriction.’ <\/span>Mitzra<\/i><\/span>–<\/i><\/span><\/span>yi<\/i><\/span>m\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05e8<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>\u05d9\u05dd\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>m<\/span><\/span>ean<\/span>s “<\/span><\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05e8<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>” a <\/span><\/span>restricting\/squeezing of th<\/span>e <\/span><\/span>\u05d9\u05dd\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ya<\/i><\/span><\/span>m<\/i><\/span> = 50 = levels of spiritual purity. A<\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05d5\u05e8\u05e2<\/span><\/span><\/span>Met<\/i><\/span><\/span>zora<\/i><\/span> also becomes<\/span> “<\/span><\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05e8<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>” r<\/span><\/span>estricted\/confined away and also like a slave<\/span> (<\/span><\/span>\u05d5\u05e2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>the two remaining letters = 76 <\/span>= <\/span><\/span>\u05e2\u05d1\u05d3<\/span><\/span><\/span>, slav<\/span><\/span>e<\/span>) to his speech. Both are steeped in terrible wickedness that destroys worlds. The only differenc<\/span>e <\/span><\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd<\/span><\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span>\u05de\u05e6\u05e8\u05e2\u05d9\u05dd<\/span><\/span><\/span>(plural form of <\/span><\/span>Metzora<\/i><\/span><\/span>)<\/span><\/span> is t<\/span><\/span>hat one is always evil but the other has a<\/span>n <\/span><\/span>\u05e2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span>side = the <\/span>70<\/i><\/span> ‘faces of Torah.’ <\/span>Let’s look at further connections as well…<\/span><\/p>\n

Tons of ANIMALS were involved in Egypt. The plagues included <\/span>frogs<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>lice<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>wild animals<\/b><\/span>, and <\/span>locusts<\/b><\/span>. All of these acted like normal but the <\/span>FROGS<\/span><\/strong> went crazy. The Midrash says they jumped into ovens and even survived! When the Jews were leaving Egypt all the <\/span>DOGS<\/span><\/strong> \u201c<\/span>Lo Yecherav Kelev Lishono<\/i><\/span>\u201d kept quiet and none of them barked. Because of this, there is a mitzvah to give credit to dogs. When we have meat that we cannot eat we are told to ‘throw it to the dogs.’ <\/span>Why<\/i><\/span> do the <\/span>DOGS<\/span><\/strong> get more credit than the <\/span>FROGS<\/span><\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n

R’ Spiro<\/span><\/span>: It is harder to control one’s mouth than it is to jump into a fiery oven. The Dogs controlled their INSTINCTS (natural tendencies and desires), and <\/span>that<\/i><\/span> is tremendous. <\/span><\/p>\n

This Parsha deals with the element of <\/span>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span> (evil speak) and all about self-control over ‘<\/span>animalistic<\/b><\/span> instincts.’ <\/span>Mitzrayim<\/i><\/span> (who acted like complete dehumanizing animals and had slaves) is compared to a <\/span>Metzora <\/i><\/span>(one who chooses to debase his speech to become like an animal\/slave to it).<\/span><\/p>\n

Chafetz Chaim<\/span><\/span>: Make sure we GOT the message: <\/span>G<\/b><\/span>uard <\/span>O<\/b><\/span>ur <\/span>T<\/b><\/span>ongues and follow the way of the dogs. Watch not only what goes IN to our mouths but even more so what comes OUT.<\/span><\/p>\n

What goes IN to our mouths re-forms our bodies (we <\/span>are<\/i><\/span> what we eat), but what comes OUT of our mouths restructures worlds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chovos Halevavos<\/span><\/span>: On our Days of Judgement when we are done here, we will be getting slammed for actions that are not even ours! When we speak evil about others, the words continue to get spread further and further and we are accountable for everywhere they end up. On the flip side, we will also get numerous CREDITS that we never even performed. These come to us from the people who spoke <\/span>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span> about us. When EVIL speak when gets emanated from a person’s mouth, it pulls away his\/her GOOD deeds along with it and they end up trying to ‘help’ compensate us who were harmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

R’ Tzvi Dovid<\/span><\/span>: A Rabbi in Krakow heard that people were spreading rumors about him (later, the people found out it wasn’t true). He explained the <\/span>pasuk<\/i><\/span> (verse) about when Dovid Hamelech says in <\/span>Tehillim<\/span><\/span> \u201cpeople who sit in the gates talk about me and those who drink sing songs about me.\u201d Dovid says he couldn’t believe that <\/span>these drunkards<\/i><\/span> are talking about him, would it have been better if a Torah scholar was talking badly about him? YES!! Because, if great people talk about him at least he would get tremendous deeds in his account due to the transfer! But when the low-lifes talk <\/span>Lashon Hara<\/i><\/span>, he does not get anything in this world or the next.<\/span><\/p>\n

When we cannot control what others say about us, at least we can take solace in knowing that magnanimous rewards are now coming our way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us be especially careful to watch what our words create. We must never debase anything to the levels of <\/span>Mitzrayim<\/i><\/span> and <\/span>Metzora’im<\/i><\/span>. When we take away the VEIL of EVIL to LIVE properly, we transform our 380 of \u05de\u05e6\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Egypt\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(40+90+200+10+40=380)\u00a0<\/span><\/span>into becoming\u00a0<\/span>\u05d4\u05e2\u05dd \u05d4\u05e0\u05d1\u05d7\u05e8<\/span><\/span> \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/span>the chosen nation\u201d <\/span>(5+70+40+5+50+2+8+200=380)<\/span><\/span> at Sinai. <\/span>We should use all our speech and actions to elevate the physical to spiritual heights, make sure ALL <\/span>DOGS<\/b><\/span> GO TO HEAVEN and help bring about the ultimate un-<\/span>restricting<\/i><\/span> with the coming of the 3<\/span>rd<\/sup><\/span> Bies Hamikdash, speedily in our days.
