It included: Dancing, juggling, light shows, music with instruments and singing\u2026 Whoever did not see this \u201cnever saw (true) rejoicing in his life.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Braisa<\/span> [53a top]: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rabbis<\/span> teach: At this ceremony, <em>Baalei Teshuva<\/em> (Penitents) would dance joyously and proclaim \u201cHappy is our old age, which has atoned for (and rejected the ways of) our misspent youth!\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ben Yehoyada<\/span>: Youthfulness (immaturity) represents <em>Gashmiyus<\/em> (physical pleasures pursuits) and older age (maturity) represents <em>Ruchniyus<\/em> (spiritual strivings).<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R\u2019 Pinkas<\/span>: White is purity (and clarity of light; complete unrefracted colors) and that is why as we age and mature our hair turns white.<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R\u2019 Rosner<\/span>: The same amount of <em>Zerizus<\/em> (alacrity) with which we run after physical pleasures, must be (at least) equated to excitement about <em>Torah<\/em>, <em>Chesed<\/em>, <em>Mitzvos<\/em>, and all our Holidays.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>E\u2019s Lesson#1<\/strong><\/span>: It is never too late to turn our lives around. Even Baalei Teshuvas (no matter what their past included) were given a shot at center stage in the biggest ceremony. Hashem loves us all and \u2018craves\u2019 our Teshuva (returning to Him). Accept the invitation, and dance at the party.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>E\u2019s Lesson#2<\/strong><\/span>: We are shown our potential and capabilities by our Yetzer Hara (Y\u201dH = evil inclination). Everything that we run after and strive for in the negative realm only shows us how amazing we can become if we switched our train onto the appropriately destined tracks.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #339966;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">R\u2019 Tatz<\/span>: Our Y\u201dH are our best Chavrusas (learning partners). The Y\u201dH never sleeps in, never misses a day, and if we are not on the ball even for a moment, sneaks in and grabs every available opportunity! What better opponent could we ask for to better ourselves?
