Rabbi Yehudah ben Bava sat between two great mountains (that could not be uprooted), and between two large cities; between the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shabbos<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> boundaries of the cities of Usha and Shifarum, and there, he ordained five elders: R\u2019 Meir, R\u2019 Yehudah, R\u2019 Shimon, R\u2019 Yosi and R\u2019 Eliezer ben Shamua. As soon as the enemies discovered them, R\u2019 Yehudah ben Bava told them to flee. They asked him, \u201cTeacher, what will become of you?\u201d He replied to them, \u201cI lay before them like a stone which cannot be overturned.\u201d \u00a0It was said that the enemies did not leave the spot until they had driven three hundred iron spears into his body, making him like a sieve.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">R\u2019 Soloveitchik<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Even though this was not one of the \u2018big three\u2019 cardinal sins (that one must die for rather than commit), he did so because through his teachings (and passing of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mesorah<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to future generations) he would gain eternal life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>D-E-ep Thoughts<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: When we are not asked to give our physical lives for something, we must ask ourselves, what are we LIVING for?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Today\u2019s P.I.P.
