{"id":123,"date":"2014-03-06T16:21:22","date_gmt":"2014-03-06T16:21:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailydoseofdaf.com\/?p=123"},"modified":"2014-03-26T12:50:17","modified_gmt":"2014-03-26T12:50:17","slug":"4-adar-ii-5774-3614-daf-31-tani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailydoseofdaf.com\/?p=123","title":{"rendered":"4 Adar II, 5774 (3\/6\/14) &#8211; Sukkah#31 {Tani}"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rabbanan<\/span>: A dried out <em>lulav<\/em> is <em>pasul<\/em> (not <em>Kosher<\/em> to use as part of the bundle of 4 species) because just like by an <em>esrog<\/em>, it needs to be beautiful, a <em>lulav<\/em> by association has the same principle applied. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rabbi Yehudah<\/span> says its <em>Kosher<\/em> because it should not be compared to an <em>esrog<\/em>. \u00a0An esrog needs \u201c<em>hadar<\/em>\u201d \u00a0(to be beautiful) but a <em>lulav<\/em> does not have that word mentioned in relation to it.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>T\u2019s Lesson<\/strong><\/span>: When it comes to doing mitzvos (like lulav and esrog) it is not enough just to do them. We have to do them in the best way possible, to make them beautiful. \u00a0Invest our time and money for the optimal performance of the mitzvah. The more beautiful, the more schar (reward) and the better the mitzvah.
