Daily GLORY

[15a middle] Gemarah: We know that usually a mourner may not wear Tefillin (on the first day) because Hashem had to specifically tell Yechezkel to, “Don your glory upon yourself,” (when ordinarily a mourner would not be allowed to). Artscroll: It is our “Glory” to wear a divinely mandated ornament in the most prominent position on the head’s center.

T’s Lesson: Many days we go to Shul and may be annoyed or bothered to wear Tefillin. They seem precarious, can feel clunky, and even strange. However, we should remember this teaching that we are wearing GLORY every time we put on Tefillin and we are sanctifying Hashem. In this way, we may see Tefillin not as a chore, but as a great daily chance to glorify Hashem each morning.
