SLUGGISH SPEED

[88b top] R’ Acha bar Yaakov: When Hashem does something “quickly,” it means 852 years.
Rashi: In the Pasuk about bringing punishment, it says that Hashem did it quickly.
R’ Rosner quoting Shaerim Mitzyonim Behalacha: Whenever we mention Moshiach, we say that he should come “speedily in OUR days,” and not speedily in “G-d’s-time” [since that could take 852 years…]. Hashem is infinite and not bound by time, therefore His ‘quickness’ is completely unlike ours.

D-E-ep Thoughts: Since we have only a limited amount of time on this world, we sometimes get lost and do not see the ‘big picture.’ We should always remember that regardless of what we think or perceive, G-d is always doing everything for our best, with mercy and love. Only after [iyH] 120 years will we recognize the ultimate truths, but for now we must live with absolute Emunah and Bitachon (understanding, trust, and hope).
