EAGERLY EXPECTING

[11a middle] R’ Elyashav: Miriam did not just curiously wait by the riverside to see if her little brother, Moshe, would make it out alive (as that would not have been a great attribute). Rather, she is commended so highly because she trusted the prophecy that she received (about Moshe becoming Israel’s great leader) as she watched with hope, anticipation, full belief and conviction that Moshe would be saved according to G-d’s plan.

D-E-ep Thoughts: This is the same belief and sincerity that we must maintain everyday as we await the coming of Moshiach and the rebuilding of the third Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple). It is not enough just to hope that He will come, but we must know with absoluteness that he will be here and we pray to be around for his coming, speedily in our days.
