[8b bottom] R’ Yosef: Even nowadays, people still die (measure for measure) for the punishments they deserve [similar to the death sentences that the Sanhedrin (high court) used to give].

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: G-d has His infinite ways of administering justice. We should never think that we can ‘cheat the system’ due to technicalities (like a court not being able to sit in our times). We will always get appropriately punished and rewarded for all we do in this world, and should keep this in mind as we carefully choose our actions daily.
