PLENTIFUL PRODUCE

[112a middle] R’ Meir: Egypt has the best producing lands (outside of Israel).
R’ Rosner: This is what helped attribute to their haughtiness [and why Hashem needed to destroy their arrogance with 10 plagues].
R’ Chisda: In Benching, we praise G-d for giving us desirous lands.
Rashi in Eikev: A person only rebels against G-d with feelings of satiation.
R’ Rosner: It is much harder to pray to G-d feverishly when we feel like we have everything.
R’ Shlomo Zalman Auerbach: It is more difficult to Bench with Kavana (proper intention) after eating a wonderful meal than to Daven with Kavana for what we want/need.

D-E-ep Thoughts: Hashem brings the most challenges to those He loves most, in order to enhance their relationships with Him. If we would only be able to pray with as much true feelings when things were good than if they were G-d forbid bad, then we would not need as many troubles. May we always continue to enhance our connections to G-d, both in (seemingly) bad times and in good, and be blessed with much Bracha, Nachas, and Redemption speedily in our days, Amen and MAZAL TOV on completing GM’ Kesuvos together!!!
