BUTTERFLY FORCES

[19a middle] Mar (Master): One must never violate (and rather does for) the sins of: idol worship, illicit relations, and murder.

Maharal: There are three pillars that the world stands on, and each of these three cardinal sins are the antithesis of what they each represent. Therefore, a person must rather give one’s life rather than transgress it (as knocking down one pillar of a three legged chair collapses its existence). Idol worship is clearly the opposite of serving one G-d, killing (extreme selfishness) is the complete opposite of (selfless) unlimited giving, and Torah study (the highest form of spirituality) is in exact contrast to (the lowest form of inappropriate physical behavior) adultery.

D-E-ep Thoughts: Every action that we do or do not do has an equal and opposite reaction in the universe. We are not isolated beings that live daily unaffecting the worlds around us. The world (and momentary re-creation) literally rests on our shoulders and little actions have magnificent consequences. Each movement changes galaxies and the “butterfly effect” manifests in full force throughout our history, present and future times.
